What information I collect, how I use it, and the choices you have.

This policy explains what information I collect when you visit risesemwi.com and jb.risesemwi.com (the "sites"), how I use it, and the choices you have. The sites are operated by Rise Search Engine Marketing, owned by Joe Bodahl ("I" or "me").

The short version: I collect only what I need to respond to you and to understand how my sites and ads are performing. I don't sell your personal information.

1. Information you give me

If you fill out a form on the sites, I collect what you enter: your name, business name, phone number, email address, and your message. If you call or email me, I also receive the information you share.

I use this information to respond to you, schedule a consultation, and talk with you about my services. Form submissions are handled by FormSubmit, a third-party form service, which delivers your message to my business email.

2. Information collected automatically

When you visit the sites, I and my service providers may collect information about your visit. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site you came from, your approximate location, and actions you take, such as clicking a button or submitting a form.

In total, I collect these categories of information, either directly from you or automatically through cookies and analytics tools:

  • Identifiers and contact details: name, email address, phone number, and IP address
  • Business information: your business name and what you tell me about your goals and needs
  • Internet and device activity: pages viewed, clicks, referring site, browser, and device type
  • Approximate location: estimated from your IP address

I do not intentionally collect sensitive information such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information. Please do not include it in your messages.

3. Cookies and tracking tools

The sites use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes:

  • Analytics. I use tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the sites so I can improve them.
  • Advertising. If I run online ads, I may use tools such as Google Ads to measure how well those ads perform and to show them to people who have visited the sites.

If I run Google Ads, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies to show my ads to people who have previously visited the sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to the sites and to other sites on the internet. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choices. The sites do not show a cookie banner, so here is how you can opt out:

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. The sites do not currently respond to these signals. Third parties, such as Google, may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you use the sites.

4. How I use information

  • To respond to your questions and requests
  • To provide and manage my services
  • To understand and improve how the sites work
  • To measure and improve my marketing, including any ads I run
  • To keep the sites secure and prevent misuse
  • To meet legal and tax obligations

5. Who I share information with

I share information only with companies that help me run the sites and my business, and only as needed for that purpose:

  • Cloudflare for hosting, security, and site performance
  • FormSubmit to deliver form submissions to my email
  • Google for analytics, advertising (if I run ads), and fonts loaded from Google Fonts
  • Google Workspace or Gmail for my business email

These companies have their own privacy policies. I may also share information if the law requires it or to protect my rights.

I do not sell your personal information for money. Some state laws treat advertising cookies as "sharing" information for targeted advertising. You can opt out of these cookies at any time using the controls in Section 3.

6. How long I keep information

I keep form submissions and emails as long as I need them to respond to you and for my business records. Analytics and advertising data is kept according to the retention settings in those tools. You can ask me to delete your information at any time (see Section 7).

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask me what personal information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Depending on where you live, such as California, you may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising. You can do this with the opt-out links in Section 3 or by emailing me. To make a request, email me at the address below. I will respond within the time required by law.

8. Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The sites are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Links to other sites

The sites may link to other websites, such as LinkedIn. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites, so please review their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
